Conrad De Kwiatkowski, Nazca Culture Pre-Colombian Weaving, c. 800 BC. Cotton gauze weave tie-dye polychrome panel with indigo and cochineal.

Twenty-five separately woven and joined camelid fiber rectangles, alternating red, green and blue, each with sixteen organic rectangular orbs. In very good condition. Mounted to linen on stretcher boards, which in turn is mounted to a large wood frame. The museum quality weaving has been professionally mounted and framed by the conservator Gail Martin behind optimum UV acrylic. Provenance of this rare weaving is lineage, as it was a gift by the head of the Peruvian Geographical Society, Dr. Erci Anrtunez de Mayolo, to the present owner his niece.
