Kentaro Takashina

Born in Osaka, Japan to a Japanese father and an American mother, Takashina grew up splitting his time between Japan and the United States. He has worked extensively as a craftsman, artist’s assistant, and maker of fine objects for over seventeen years.  Takashina earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Parsons School of Design in 2004.

Kentaro Takashina focuses on creating one-of-a-kind sculptural wood pieces. He is dedicated to the use of locally sourced and sustainable materials as well as employing ethical practices that are kind to our environment. Each of his designs, both furniture and decorative objects, are hand-crafted in his studio located in the foothills of the Catskill mountains.
