Jean Gillon ( 1919-2007), was a Romanian-born, naturalized Brazilian, architect-designer best known for his design of the iconic “Jangada” chair. He founded WoodArt in the 1950’s, for which he designed a collection of unique objects crafted from Brazilian rosewood, or jacaranda, in the 1960’s and 1970’s.
